A Field in England

A small party of deserters flees a heated battle through an overgrown field during the English Civil War in the seventeenth century. They are apprehended by an alchemist, who coerces the gang into assisting him in his search for a buried treasure in the field. After passing through a giant mushroom circle that offers their first meal, the gang immediately descends into a jumble of disagreements, fighting, and paranoia, and when it becomes evident that the treasure may not be gold, they gradually succumb to the field's frightening powers.
