A Soldier's Story

A black Master Sergeant is found shot to death just outside the local Army Base in a rural town in Louisiana. A military lawyer, also a black man, is dispatched from Washington to conduct an investigation. Captain Davenport must battle deception and prejudice in order to find out who really killed Sergeant Waters, despite an uncooperative chain of command and fearful black troops.
