A frustrated pop sensation, Adelaide Kay sneaks off the tour bus after the latest altercation with her overbearing manager. With a sense of elation at her newfound liberation, she soon finds herself stranded in the bitter cold of a Pennsylvania winter with no money and no way out. The Lapps, a local family, take her in and raise her as their own. In spite of the fact that their dairy farm is in jeopardy, they have a firm grasp on the actual spirit of the season. The only family member who knows who Adelaide is is her eldest son, Dillon. His plan is to take pictures of Adelaide and sell them to tabloids for a quick payday. However, he doesn't anticipate the fact that they have a mutual attraction.
