Claus Michael Pedersen, the company commander, and his soldiers are stationed in Helmand, Afghanistan. Meanwhile, back in Denmark, Claus' wife Maria is struggling to make ends meet with a husband at war and three children who mourn their father. The soldiers are trapped in intense Taliban crossfire on a routine deployment. Claus makes a decision to save his men that leads to his return to Denmark as a war criminal.
