One thousand years after a series of catastrophic events caused humanity to flee Earth, Nova Prime has become the new home of mankind. In order to be a father to his 13-year-old son Kitai, legendary General Cypher Raige goes home after a long deployment to his estranged family. When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai's ship, they crash-land on an unfamiliar and dangerous Earth.
