Because of his lack of popularity, Ryota was awarded a literary prize 15 years ago. Ryota is now a private investigator. He has an 11-year-old son named Shingo from a previous marriage to Kyoko, from whom he was divorced. The only person living in Yoshiko's flat is him. Ryota, Kyoko, and Shingo, Ryota's kid, meet up at Yoshiko's apartment one day. The family is forced to spend the night in the shelter as a typhoon hits.
