Bucum Jackson (Cube) is a bounty hunter who doesn't want a companion. To find low-life criminals, Jackson uses unconventional techniques, but they work, and one day he intends to be his own employer and start a private investigative agency. Jackson and the law are evading Reggie Wright (Epps). Two detectives stumble upon a multi-million dollar diamond theft. Wright, hiding from Jackson, ends himself in the thieves' getaway van and has to flee as they discover their bounty is false (Flanagan). When Wright meets up with his lover (Mendes), he realizes he is the single winner of a $60 million lottery. His wallet, which contained the ticket, was stolen, so he asks Jackson for assistance.
