When we first meet ornithologist Anna in Rwanda in 1994, the country is in the midst of a genocide led by the Hutu majority against the Tutsi minority. Anna is able to save the daughter of a friend whose family was killed. She takes her to Poland. That's not all. The woman goes back to Rwanda to visit the graves of her loved ones. While working on My Nikifor (Crystal Globe) with her spouse Krzysztof Krauze (My Nikifor - KVIFF 2005), she eventually completed this difficult film on her own.
