Breakthrough tells the story of a scientist who goes against the rules to try to find a cure for cancer, the disease that killed his mother. Jim Allison, a Texan, won the 2018 Nobel Prize for discovering how to get a cancer patient's own immune system to fight the disease. For decades, he fought a painfully lonely battle against the medical establishment's doubts.
