Call of the Wild
Despite his best efforts, Jack Thornton is unable to earn enough money at the casino to pay for his trip to the Alaskan gold fields. Having paid $250 for a sled dog that is part wolf to protect him from an arrogant Englishman on a similar journey, he has a turn of fortune. Shorty Houlihan, who spent time in jail for opening someone else's letter with a map of where gold is to be found, rescued a woman whose husband was the recipient of that letter while they were on their way to the Yukon. In order to get the goods he needs, Jack has to win a $1,000 bet with Buck. And one night, while Jack and Claire Blake were petting Buck, they saw that their fingers had come into contact.
