The terrifying actual account of a shark encounter that took place in October of 1982 serves as the inspiration for this film. The crew of a yacht that was headed to Florida is killed by a school of tiger sharks after their vessel capsizes in the middle of an unexpected storm and they are forced to float for days in the frigid waters of the Atlantic Ocean. As the crew's prospect of being rescued wanes, they will need to utilize every available resource to stay alive while the sharks continue their pursuit of them.
