Nasser-Ali, a talented musician, loses his will to live after his wife breaks his beloved violin during an argument. He looks for a replacement but finds none that sound quite the same, so he vows to die. He does it eight days later. This is the story of his final week of life, with flashbacks and flash forwards to his previous life and the futures of his children. We also see a naked Sophia Loren and Azarel, the angel of death. As we see his life, we realize why he chose to end it and the gravity of his decision.
