Colliding Dreams
Today, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has been going on for more than a century, is still very important to people around the world. That conflict, of course, has had a lot of bad things happen to both Israelis and Palestinians since it began. People from two different countries are fighting for national recognition and expression in a small but important piece of land that is also very small. For example, the Israeli novelist Amos Oz has said that the tragedy of this history is that two peoples with equal and legitimate aspirations for nationhood and self-expression are at odds with each other over a small piece of land that they both want to own and use.
