A-yuan and A-yun are both from the small mining town of Jio-fen. They relocate to Taipei, where A-yuan works as an apprentice during the day and attends night school, and A-yun works as a tailor's assistant. Everyone believes they are meant to be together, and they believe it as well. They fail to recognize that time and fate are beyond their control.
