Eat Drink Man Woman
Chu (Si Hung Lung) is a retired and widowed Chinese master chef who lives in Taipei, Taiwan, with his family. He lives with his three beautiful daughters, who are all single at the beginning of the film. Every one of the girls encounters a new man as the film proceeds. Stereotypes are shattered and the dynamic of family life is transformed as new relationships are formed. Gourmet Chinese cooking is depicted in a number of moments in the film. When it comes to expressing their affection for one another, the family relies on the elaborate preparation of banquet-quality meals for Sunday dinners as a substitute.
