Elmer Gantry
Elmer Gantry (Burt Lancaster), a hedonistic but charming con man, meets Sister Sharon Falconer (Jean Simmons), a gorgeous roadside revivalist, and pretends to be a passionate preacher to join her act. Onstage, the two have great chemistry, and that chemistry spills over into their personal lives as well. However, Gantry's program and their relationship are both threatened when one of Gantry's ex-lovers (Shirley Jones) decides that she has a score to pay with the charismatic actor.
