F for Fake
The story of Elmyr de Hory and Clifford Irving, two well-known con artists. Artists such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse sold forgeries under the name "De Hory" before he took his own life to escape further prison time. A fictitious autobiography of Howard Hughes was written by Irving, who became famous for his work. Documentary and fiction are intertwined in this film as it looks at the fundamentals of fraud and the people who perpetrate it at the expense of others.
