FAREWELL is a complex and thought-provoking historical thriller about a normal man caught up in the largest heist of Soviet material since the Cold War. It's engaging, dramatic, and captivating. FAREWELL begins in 1981, following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Pierre Froment (Guillaume Canet), a French businessman stationed in Moscow, develops an odd connection with Grigoriev (Emir Kusturica), a senior KGB official disillusioned with the Communist ideology under Brezhnev. The Soviet spy network in the United States is revealed to Grigoriev, who begins passing it on to Froment in an extremely sensitive manner.
