The protagonist, Jason, is bitten by an unexplained organism while on vacation with his fiancée, Sam, at her sister's remote farmhouse. Jason undergoes a transformation as a result of the bite, and now the couple must race against the clock to figure out what happened to Sam's sister and her family, as well as what is in store for them in the future. Everything about the picture is a culmination of the ultimate fear addressed in it: the dread of losing a loved one, or much worse, the fear of becoming a monster in the eyes of others.
