One day, Horton the elephant hears a plea for assistance coming from a speck of dust in the distance. Despite the fact that he can't make out anyone else on the speck, he makes the decision to assist it. It has been discovered that the speck of dust is the dwelling place of the Whos, who make their home in the city that they call Whoville. Horton gives his word that he'll assist in keeping the Whos and their home safe.
