It All Starts Today
The story takes place in a deserted mining town near Valencienne in the north of France. It is about how one man tries to bring life back to his once-thriving village and its people. Philippe Torreton, who won a César for Best Actor for his role as Capitaine Conan, plays Daniel, the head teacher of a nursery school in a town where unemployment has made people sad. Daniel is determined to bring life to the community no matter what. When a drunk parent who has come to pick up her kids passes out on the school grounds and social services refuses to help, Daniel decides to take matters into his own hands. Even though the people in the town are against him, in the long run, his efforts won't be in vain.
