Joseph Kilian
Harold is a lonely character in a world of authoritarian bureaucracy. In Prague, Harold looks for an old acquaintance named Joseph Kilian. Harold makes the rash decision to rent a cat for the day after stumbling across a state-run cat-lending establishment. He later tries to return the cat but discovers that the store has closed. Harold continues his search for Kilian, now with a furry sidekick. This 40-minute short, written and directed by Pavel Juracek, brilliantly targets personality cults and the follies of a totalitarian society with its allegorical imagery.
