Kagemusha
In Akira Kurosawa's acclaimed feudal epic, a petty thief is recruited to impersonate Shingen, an aging warlord, in order to avoid attacks by competing clans. When Shingen dies, his generals reluctantly agree to have the impostor succeed him as powerful ruler. He quickly comes to appreciate life as Shingen, but his dedication to the role is put to the test when he is forced to lead his troops into battle against the forces of a rival warlord.
