A 17-year-old named Eli moves with his family to the isolated farm of a reclusive man named Waylon, whose dark past is on the verge of taking him over, Eli's family is working to make the fields they used to be beautiful again. He is drawn to the forests. On the farm, Eli meets Amanda when she gives him an apple. She is very mysterious. The next day, she makes him promise not to go into the deep woods. His father had been violent to him. One night he breaks this promise and finds her body hanging from a tree.
