A shaman from the rain forest of South America is in France for a public relations effort. He meets Perrin, a French good-for-nothing in an elevator in a Paris hotel, and he's captivated by him. When he arrives at Perrin's apartment, the shaman is welcomed inside Perrin's home for the night, much to Perrin's displeasure. The shaman had a heart attack the next day after attending an official meeting as part of the PR effort. With no ability to talk, he begs Perrin to come see him in his hospital bed. This time, the shaman will not be welcomed back by the latter. The shaman and Perrin, who met in the elevator, appear to be linked psychologically now, and it's too late to settle their differences.
