In the midst of his hedonistic lifestyle, Jake is forced to confront the ashes of his life and his faltering singing career. After seeing her again at a local music show, Jake's ex-girlfriend, BECCA, suddenly reappears in his life. Becca, a good girl who never forgets who Jake is, makes him work for it just to fall in love with him all over again. A heartbreaking secret is held by Jake's mother, MIA, who reveals that Jake's father, whom he believed to be dead, is actually alive. Mia wanted Jake to believe that his father, BO, had died in order to shelter him from the misery of seeing what BO had become after a terrible accident. While walking through a Nashville suburb, Jake meets BO, who has recently returned to his life and is hoping for a reconciliation with the rest of the family.
