With the help of maintenance man Johnny and his quiet son Max, high school dean Alana and her daughter Samantha plan to put on a holiday show to raise money for the school. The show will help the school stay open. But when a car accident leaves Sam in a life-threatening condition, Alana turns to Johnny for help, and Max makes a desperate decision that will tie their families together for good for the rest of their lives. All four people have to think about what sacrifice, family, and love mean, and what it means to be thankful for another Christmas.
