In the moving film Monsieur Papa, a contemporary family is depicted through the eyes of their 12-year-old son, Marius Vallois. Marius Vallois is the son of Marie Vallois, a famous CEO, and he was born into an affluent household. Marius has never met his father and as a result suffers terribly from this fact, despite the undying love that Marie has for her son. Marie comes to the conclusion that she needs to find a father figure for Marius after he begins stealing from stores and performing poorly in school. One day, she runs into Robert Pique in the building where her office is located. Robert is a unique individual who has a background in finance but makes ends meet by ironing clothing for his neighbors. Although Robert is a peculiar character, his neighbors find him to be quite helpful. After some initial reluctance, Robert finally agrees to take the money and meet Marius under the guise of being his father. Even though Marius realizes right away that Robert is not his biological father, they form a strong connection extremely quickly despite this fact.
