Heavy metal and his dog are two of Jacek's favorite things. Every day he turns the country lanes in front of his house into a racing track and races down them in his little car. Everyone flees the dance floor when he and his girlfriend Dagmara go to the floor. As a cool misfit in an otherwise staid atmosphere, he works on a construction site on the Polish-German border where the world's largest Jesus statue is being built. An unfortunate event at work, however, radically alters his destiny in life. The Polish media eagerly awaits Jacek's first-person account of his successful face transplant. He may be a national hero and martyr, but he no longer recognizes himself in the mirror. The statue of Jesus, on the other hand, continues to rise in height. However fast-paced the events involving Jacek become, the movie never loses sight of the greater picture and instead throws everything even more into perspective.
