Historical epic: The Nomad is set in Kazakhstan in the 18th century and tells the story of a group of people. An account of Ablai Khan's youth and coming-of-age is told in the movie. He grows up and fights to protect the fortress at Hazrat-e Turkestan from Dzungar invaders, which he does in the movie.
