In 1964, an atomic war wipes out all of humanity in the northern hemisphere. One American submarine makes a temporary home for itself in Australia, where life goes on as normal, masking the growing sense of despair. Capt. Towers was in denial about the death of his wife and children in the Holocaust. When he meets Moira Davidson, who is worn but beautiful, he starts to fall in love with her. The sub comes back a month or less before the end. Will Towers and Moira be able to get along?
