Whenever Marie locks her bedroom door and sleeps, she dreams about Marty, a literary agent in New York City who dreams about Marie just as much. Their clothes match. Marie meets William, and he starts to court her. She meets Aaron, who is an accountant. She becomes Aaron's friend and then his lover. It's the same for both women. They tell their lovers about their dreams. William is jealous, but Aaron isn't. They've become lovers, but Marie won't sleep next to William. With William, Marie goes on a trip to Paris.
