Peace Officer
As told through the story of Dub Lawrence, a former sheriff who established his rural state's first SWAT team only to witness that same unit kill Dub's son-in-law in a controversial standoff 30 years later, Peace Officer is a documentary about the increasingly militarized state of American law enforcement. Animated by an obsession with his purpose, Dub employs his own investigative abilities to unearth the truth in this and other recent officer-involved shootings in his town, while also addressing broader questions about the changing face of peace officers around the United States.
