Pinky
Pinky, a black woman with light skin, goes to her grandmother's house in the South after she finishes nursing school in the North. Pinky tells her grandmother that at school in the North, she has been "passing" for white. Pinky has also fallen in love with Dr. Thomas Adams, a young white doctor who doesn't know anything about her black background.
