Saving Mbango
Dramatization of John's life, in which he ends up working as a breadwinner for his chaotic family. His aspirations are stymied by his dysfunctional and upsetting upbringing. He falls head over heels in love with Mbango, a country girl who's going through difficulties that make John's seem tame by comparison. John's world becomes even more tangled as a result of this. He's caught between trying to keep his chaotic family together and saving the woman he loves. After being tormented by his abusive father, reckless older brother, and cruel unmarried sisters for the better part of his life, he now finds himself in a bind. Filmed in Mondoni, a small village in Cameroon's south-west area, Nkanya Nwai's film is a multiple prize winner.
