Scum
This is the harrowing and disturbing account of life in a British Borstal for juvenile offenders. The cruel government made no attempt to reform or improve the inmates and openly promoted a power struggle between the 'tough' incoming detainees and the 'old hands.' This film is a remake, directed and written by the same person, of a 1977 BBC television play that was canceled prior to airing [see Scum (1991)].
