Seat in Shadow
Young Ben is experiencing relationship difficulties once more, so his grandmother introduces him to Albert, an eccentric Glasgow painter who also happens to be an unusual, Jung-inspired psychiatrist. Albert and Ben become fast friends. They eventually discover as much about Albert as they do about Ben in this twisted and sexually charged comedic drama. "Seat In Shadow," the writer/director Henry Coombes' first feature film, was shot entirely on location in the city of Glasgow. After premiering at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the film went on to play at the Berlin International Film Festival and the BFI Flare Festival in the UK. An amusing examination of societal mores as well as sexual excess, in which the lines between doctor and patient, as well as between artist and muse, get more blurred.
