Larry Livingstone, a psychologist, is ready for a new commitment three years after his divorce from his model-wife. He falls in love with Beth, a young widow with two children. However, Beth and the children are still in mourning for their late husband and father, and Larry finds it difficult to break through their reservations. Larry has to deal with his ex-wife as well as his love for his own two children. Beth and the children gradually realize that they must move on with their lives and that they have been given a second chance.
