Jackie Moon is the owner, promoter, coach, and star player for the American Basketball Association's Flint Michigan Tropics (ABA). The NBA wants to unite with the ABA's strongest clubs at the end of the season in1976, before the league collapses. Only the top four teams will move through, while the worst four will fold. The Tropics are the league's poorest club, and if they want to make the NBA, Jackie Moon needs to rally his troops and start winning. The only issue is that Jackie Moon is not the basketball coach and top player he claims to be. Jackie Moon must lead his team to fourth place in the playoffs to keep his squad from fading into obscurity and leave his mark on the city.
