Jennifer, a self-absorbed adolescent, mistakenly slips into a local homeless shelter late one evening after an altercation with her elderly mother. Jennifer's father, upset with her selfish attitude, issues an ultimatum that includes her helping at the shelter in the hopes that she will learn to be responsible and empathetic toward others.
