To sink a German battle-cruiser in an inlet off Zanzibar, an English adventurer, an American elephant poacher, and his pretty young daughter set out during World War One. One of Wilbur Smith's novels is based on the light cruiser SMS Königsberg, which got into trouble in 1915 when it tried to hide in the Rufigi delta and was sunk. The story itself is very much based on this.
