Sometimes a Great Notion

Henry Stamper, Hank Stamper's father, and other family members cut and ship logs in Oregon as part of the Stamper Logging Co. The town is outraged when the Stampers refuse to stop despite Hank's orders to do so despite the town going bankrupt and the other loggers going on strike. It is Hank's wife's hope that they can spend more time together. Adding to Hank's half-brother Leland's woes is the arrival of Leland.
