Sunshine
The three-generation saga of a Jewish family in Hungary rising from humble origins to positions of riches and power in the fading Austro-Hungarian Empire. The patriarch rises to prominence as a judge, but is conflicted when his government supports anti-Semitism. His son becomes a Christian in order to further his career as a champion fencer and Olympic hero, but he becomes a victim of the Holocaust. After enduring war, revolution, tragedy, and treachery, the grandson finally recognizes that his ultimate allegiance must be to himself and his ancestors.
