Joan Howell, a young and attractive maid-for-hire, meets and falls for wealthy New York City businessman Tom Milford. Joan brings Tom to a luxury apartment that she cleans on a regular basis, not realizing that it's his place, because she's embarrassed about taking him back to her little flat that she lives with her roommate Audrey.
