In this little Provencal village, a new baker, Aimable, settles down. His other half Aurelie is gorgeous and also much more youthful than he. She departs with a guard the night after Aimable produces his initial breads. Aimable is so affected that he can not work any longer. As a result, the villagers, who at first laughed at his cuckoldry, take the issue very seriously (they desire the bread) and also arrange a plan to find Aurelie and to bring her back to the bakery.
