The Bridge on the River Kwai

The time-honored tale of English prisoners of war in Burma who were ordered to construct a bridge for their Japanese captors as part of their contribution to the war effort. Col. Nicholson, the commander who supervised the construction of the bridge, has developed a sense of pride in his work and strives to thwart the intelligence officers' plot to blow up the structure.
