At the end of a rainy night in an arms factory outside Shanghai, a young female employee who has been falsely accused of taking a box of rounds from the cruel Boss Ding (Liu Kai Chi) is brutally murdered in a game of Russian roulette. Sixty-two days after that, a series of strange fatalities occurs in the workplace, in which the victims were shot but no bullets were located. Rumors of a lethal curse began to circulate throughout the facility, terrifying the employees. The eccentric police investigator Song Donglu (Lau Ching Wan) and his hot-blooded, gunslinging companion Guo Zhui (Nicolas Tse) are assigned to the case to examine the mystery of the phantom gunshots.
