The realm of magic is being endangered by the world of reasoning, so Carolinus, the eco-friendly wizard makes a decision to protect it for all time. Ommadon, the wicked red wizard, stands in his way. Carolinus then calls for a mission that is to be led by a man named Peter Dickinson, who is the initial man of both the realms of science as well as magic. It is Peter's job to beat Ommadon.
