Samantha has spent her entire life in a variety of foster homes throughout the United States. Now that she is a resident of a tiny town, she never fully feels at home, not even with her current foster family, who may one day adopt her, or with the lad who follows her around while she is doing her schoolwork. As a result, it's maybe understandable that she's perplexed by her nosy little sister, Olivia, who has decided to follow along. Olivia, who has wandered off into the woods on her own, is abandoned by Sam one day, and she vanishes without trace.
