Ray Owens is the sheriff of Sommerton Junction, a sleepy US border town, after leaving the LAPD after a botched mission. Following his escape from the FBI, a notorious drug lord, his gang, and a hostage are making their way toward Sommerton Junction, where authorities are organizing a last-ditch effort to stop them before they cross the border. Owens is hesitant to get involved, but eventually agrees to assist police enforcement.
